OSDTIS Governance

The governance of the Open-Source Digital Trust Identification System (OSDTIS) is created, directed and governed by the Inventive Creativity Foundation, a nonprofit organisation legally registered in the Republic of Poland.  OSDTIS is maintained by a global open-source community of developers, researchers, and partners who believe in secure, transparent, and equitable digital identity systems. The Foundation provides strategic leadership, legal oversight, transparency, and long-term stewardship of the DigitalTrust identification framework.

The Foundation serves as the legal governing body responsible for maintaining, updating, and providing open-source access to the DigitalTrust (OSDTIS) identification framework.

OSDTIS Governance Structure

OSDTIS governance is built on a multi-layered framework ensuring trust, legality, and long-term sustainability. It includes a Board of Directors overseeing strategy and ethics, Executive Leadership managing operations and growth, and a global Legal and Compliance Council ensuring regulatory alignment. Business advisors guide real-world adoption, academic partners support research and testing, and the open-source community contributes to security, transparency, and continuous innovation.

OSDTIS Founding Principles

DigitalTrust (OSDTIS) was established on a set of core principles that guide our purpose, shape our governance, and strengthen our commitment to building a trusted global identification ecosystem. These principles reflect the foundation upon which our platform, community, and mission are built.

1. Identity as a Human Right

Every individual deserves a secure, portable, and universally accepted identity—regardless of background, geography, or economic status. We believe identity should empower people, not restrict them.

2. Privacy and User Control

Our system is designed around the principle that individuals must own and control their identity. Data minimisation, consent, and privacy-by-design are fundamental to every aspect of OSDTIS.

3. Trust Through Transparency

Open-source development, clear governance, and public accountability ensure that DigitalTrust remains auditable, trustworthy, and free from hidden influence.

4. Security Without Compromise

Strong encryption, legal verification, and global compliance frameworks ensure that every identity is issued, validated, and used securely, with zero tolerance for fraud or misuse.

5. Ethical and Lawful Governance

We work with global lawyers, expert firms, compliance authorities, and accredited registration agencies to maintain a lawful, ethical, and responsible identity ecosystem.

6. Collaboration for Public Good

DigitalTrust is built through global cooperation uniting developers, institutions, researchers, students, nonprofits, and communities to advance secure identity for the benefit of all.

7. Innovation for a Better Future

We continuously explore new technologies, including verifiable credentials, blockchain validation, decentralised identity models, and AI-based verification to strengthen and future-proof the platform.

Core and Technical Features of OSDTIS

Our Vison

Our vision is to build a world where every individual has one secure, trusted, and universally accepted digital identity an identity that empowers people, protects privacy, and strengthens trust across digital and physical environments. DigitalTrust (OSDTIS) envisions a future where identification is no longer fragmented, inaccessible, or dependent on multiple systems, but instead unified through a transparent, open-source, and globally interoperable framework.

We strive to create an ecosystem in which:

  • People own and control their identity, rather than institutions.

  • Organisations interact with verified users seamlessly, without compromising security.

  • Governments, schools, NGOs, and businesses rely on a single trusted system for identity verification.

  • Innovation and collaboration thrive, supported by open-source technology and global community participation.

  • Legal and ethical standards guide responsible identity management for all.

Our vision extends beyond technology. It is rooted in social impact—expanding access, reducing fraud, supporting vulnerable populations, and bringing trusted identification to communities who need it most.

Through research, community engagement, international partnerships, and nonprofit leadership, we are shaping a safer, more inclusive digital future where secure identity is a human right, not a privilege.
